UPDATE: COVID-19 Vaccines for Children Aged 5-11
Dear UTRGV Family,
Following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) recommendation, UT Health RGV will now offer pediatric doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech (Pfizer) COVID-19 vaccine to children aged 5-11, starting Friday, November 5.
Parents/guardians of children aged 5+ can schedule an appointment for themselves and/or their child to get vaccinated at the following locations:
Brownsville
Friday, November 5
9:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
UTRGV Casa Bella Apartments — Club House*
2651 FJRM Ave.
(Initial doses and boosters for people aged 12+ available 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.)
* Location changed from Cortez Hall to the Casa Bella Apartments.
Edinburg

Parents and Guardians:
- You will receive a call from 1-833-888-2268 (1-833-UTVACN8 ) upon scheduling your child’s appointment. Please save this phone number.
- This lower-dose Pfizer vaccine is the only COVID-19 vaccine to be authorized and recommended for use in children aged 5-11 years and should be administered as a two-dose series, three weeks apart - just as it is for people aged 12 and up.
- Appointments for each child's second dose will be scheduled on site.
- All children under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
