UTRGV COVID-19 Protocols Remain In Effect Until Further Notice
Dear UTRGV Community:
On Thursday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued new guidance, stating that fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear masks or physically distance in most indoor or outdoor situations.
UTRGV leadership is currently analyzing the CDC guidance further to determine how we will apply it to our campus community. In the meantime, UTRGV’s current facial covering and social distancing protocols remain in effect until further notice.
UTRGV leadership has previously acknowledged the importance of utilizing the CDC’s recommendations in developing University protocols and is committed to continuing that process in the best interest of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Rest assured, we will communicate any updates to these protocols as they are decided upon.
Get Vaccinated Now
The CDC’s new guidance shows the COVID-19 vaccines are highly effective at preventing infection and stopping the spread of the disease-causing virus. If you are not yet vaccinated, we highly encourage you to get vaccinated as soon as possible through the UTRGV Vaccine Portal or with an authorized vaccine provider of your choice.
We’re closer to reclaiming our lives than ever. Help us finish the fight by getting vaccinated and continuing to follow all health protocols and best practices.
