REMINDER: COVID-19 Screening & Testing Process
Dear UTRGV Family,
Current UTRGV protocol requires all students, faculty, and staff - regardless of vaccination status - to follow the COVID-19 Screening & Reporting Process prior to visiting any university facility.
For your reference, here is the process, step by step:
- Ask yourself the Daily Self-Screening Questions.
- If you are sick (or symptomatic), believe you were exposed to someone with COVID-19, or recently tested positive for COVID-19, Complete the Preliminary COVID-19 Screening Form and wait for direction from the UTRGV COVID Response Team.
- Depending on your situation, you may need to get tested. If testing is needed, submit your results to the UTRGV COVID Response Team. Positive or negative, you must submit all test results to the UTRGV COVID Response Team for medical review.
This requirement also applies to all COVID-19 tests you may have had within the last 90 days. If you test positive at a non-UTRGV site, you must also submit a copy of your test results for medical review.IMPORTANT:
If you choose to go to another location for testing, please specify the PCR-Nasal Swab test. The UTRGV COVID Response Team does not accept the rapid antigen test or antibody tests for the purposes of case management.
- For administrative purposes, please keep your supervisor or instructor apprised of your status at all times with any communication provided to you by the UTRGV COVID Response Team. (Are you awaiting testing? Are you being asked to quarantine or isolate?)
- Wait to be released (if told to quarantine or self-isolate). The COVID Response Team will send an email detailing your official clearance. Submit your clearance email to your supervisor or instructor. Until then, you are not allowed on campus.
Supervisors and Instructors
If you have students or staff who have been out sick with possible COVID-19-related symptoms, please ask them to provide you with a copy of their clearance email from the COVID Response Team before allowing them to return to campus. The COVID Response Team cannot share this sensitive information with you. It is up to each student and employee to share that directly with you.
Thank you for doing your part to protect our UTRGV Family at this critical point in the pandemic.
Sincerely,
