COVID-19 Update: Campus Operations
Dear Campus Community:
To maintain the health and safety of our on-campus community, we are asking that all faculty and staff adhere to the following CDC Guidelines pertaining to COVID-19 transmission.
Each day, prior to visiting any campus/off-campus facilities, review the questions regarding COVID-19-related symptoms listed below.
If you answer YES to them, please do not come to work. Instead, please call the UTRGV Employee Health Clinic (956) 296-1731, or your healthcare provider, and notify your supervisor. Your supervisor will work with you on leave management.
UT Health RGV has a large staff of primary care and specialty providers including via telemedicine. If you need to establish care with a health care provider you can reach our patient communications center at 833-UTRGVMD. Additionally, UT Health RGV provides testing for COVID-19 at multiple sites throughout the Rio Grande Valley. You can be screened for and schedule a COVID-19 test also through our patient communications center at 833-UTRGVMD.
If you are seen or tested at your healthcare provider or another site, including UT Health RGV drive-thru locations, and you are found to have COVID-19, please call Employee Health (956) 296-1731 as soon as possible, so that your return to work can be managed appropriately.
Symptoms related to COVID-19:
- Have you been exposed to someone in your household or been within close contact (within 6 feet) of an individual with a confirmed COVID-19 case in the last 14 days?
- Do you have new or worsening shortness of breath or difficulties breathing?
- Do you have a new or worsening cough?
- Do you have a measured temperature greater than 100.0°F?
Or at least two of the following symptoms:
- Do you have new or worsening chills?
- Do you have repeated shaking with chills?
- Do you have a new or worsening sore throat?
- Do you have new or worsening muscle pain?
- Do you have a new or worsening headache?
- Do you have a new loss of taste or smell?
- Do you have diarrhea?
IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THE SYMPTOMS BELOW, PLEASE STOP AND CALL 911.
- Trouble breathing
- Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
- New confusion or inability to arouse
- Bluish lips or face
- Severe and constant dizziness or lightheadedness
- Slurred Speech
- New seizure
- Coughing up blood.
- Signs of low blood pressure (E.g.: Too weak to stand, light-headed, feeling cold, pale and with clammy skin)
Read important information about caring for yourself or someone else who is sick and follow these steps to help protect others from getting sick.
