Parking Reimbursement for Students

Tuesday, March 31, 2020 :: University Marketing & Communication

Dear Vaqueros:

UTRGV understands the difficult circumstances the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic has placed on all of us, and we thank you for your hard work and dedication during these uncertain times.

To help mitigate some of your financial burden, UTRGV will offer pro-rated reimbursements to students who purchased parking permits. The pro-rated amount will cover March 17, 2020, through the end of August 31, 2020 for annual permits.

Reimbursements will be posted to student accounts, and no action is needed on your part to receive the reimbursement. Please monitor your student account activity in ASSIST.

For example:

  • An annual Zone 2 permit for the rate of $100 will receive an adjustment of $48.08.
  • An annual Zone 1 permit for the rate of $60 will receive an adjustment of $28.85.

If you have a credit balance following the reimbursement, a refund will be processed in accordance with University fiscal policies.

Enforcement of zoned parking on UTRGV campuses and off-campus sites is temporarily suspended until further notice. Enforcement of ADA spaces, red zones, fire lanes and other areas requiring a special permit will continue.

If you have any questions contact parking@utrgv.edu.
