General Health and Safety Guidance
Our institution is only as healthy as you are.
From practicing good hygiene, like handwashing, to staying home when you’re sick, all UTRGV employees play a role in preventing the spread of illness on campus and throughout the community.
Eating a well-balanced diet and exercising regularly is essential to health, but so is rest. Make sure you are getting enough sleep to recharge and bring your best self to work each day.
Staying up to date with your vaccines also protects you and others against many preventable diseases. That’s why we offer Flu shots and COVID-19 vaccines (among many others) at UT Health RGV locations. If you need one, make an appointment now!
And in case you didn't know, the University has an entire department dedicated to health and safety. The goal of Environmental, Health, Safety & Risk Management (EHSRM) at UTRGV is to ensure that when you leave at the end of the day, you are just as healthy and safe as when you arrived. If you or your team want to know more about safety plans and policies, resources, available training, or how to report a hazard, EHSRM is here to help.
