Department of Physician Assistant Studies:
The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Continued status to the Physician Assistant Program sponsored by The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Accreditation-Continued is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards.

Accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. The approximate date for the next validation review of the program by the ARC-PA will be September 2023. The review date is contingent upon continued compliance with the Accreditation Standards and ARC-PA policy.
School of Rehabilitation Services & Counseling:
The undergraduate Program was accredited by the Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE), 2013-2021 and is now recognized by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP) in the undergraduate registry.
The Master's Program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) until September 2019. The Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling program is accredited by the Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE) for the following term, 2011-2018. However, on July 1, 2017, CORE and the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) merged. Therefore, our program became a Rehabilitation Counseling program accredited by CACREP. Our program is accredited by CACREP until September 2019 www.cacrep.org. As such, students who successfully complete the requirements of this program are immediately eligible to sit for the certifying exam as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC).
The Ph.D Program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).

Complaints to The Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) by any Interested Party
Any individual may contact the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) if they feel a serious offense related to this Communication Disorders program's compliance with accreditation standards has occurred. Complaints may also be made to the CAA that involve behavior that is in violation of ASHA's Code of Ethics. Please note that the CAA should not be contacted for the purpose of airing complaints of a general or unspecified nature. The CAA has specific guidelines established which must be completed and can be found on ASHA's website under Procedures for Complaints Against Graduate Education Programs link.
