About Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS)
Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) is a federal grant funded by the U.S. Department of Education. This grant is to support student-parents as they are on track to complete their education and graduate. The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley students who are eligible will receive full-time (Monday-Friday) childcare while in class and /or studying. This grant is only available for low-income, Pell Grant Eligible student-parents and is contingent upon available fundings.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the CCAMPIS grant, participants must meet the following criterion:
- Applicant must be a UTRGV enrolled student (Full-time/Part-time)
- Applicant is an Undergraduate student
- Applicant must be receiving a Pell Grant or be Pell Grant eligible based on the Expected Family Contribution. A FASFA must be completed and on file with the Office of Financial Aid.
- Enrolled student-parent must be the legal guardian of the child for whom the grant award will be used for.
How to Apply
If you meet all the eligibility requirements, you are responsible to fill out our CCAMPIS Application that is located on top of the CCAMPIS Webpage and email your complete application to ccampis@utrgv.edu along following documents:
- Detailed copy of your Spring 2025 schedule (Your name must be on the schedule.)
- Copy of your 2024-2025 Financial Aid Award Letter/Online Student Account. (Your name must be on these documents.)
- Proof of Pell Grant Eligibility for the 2024-2025 school year. (Your name must be on these documents.)
All documents must be legible, and your name must be visible. All documents must be sent as a PDF or Scan. (No pictures of a computer/laptop with a document on the screen are accepted.) If you must send a picture, you must submit it as an attachment.

Off-Campus Childcare Services
We offer Off-Campus childcare services for students who are unable to commute to our Child Development Center in Edinburg. (If you are interested in off-campus services, you are required to fill out our Off-Campus CCAMPIS Grant Application)

Frequently Asked Questions
There is attendance requirement for the child(ren) that are under the CCAMPIS grant program. The sole purpose of the CCAMPIS grant is to provide full-time (Monday-Friday) childcare.
You must inform both the Child Care Center and CCAMPIS Program by email that your child will be absent. Reason for absence must be included. If it’s a medical reason as to why they are absent, you must provide a doctor’s excuse in person or via email when they return to the center.
For any updates that fall under the CCAMPIS program credential requirement (Ex: Class Schedule, Financial Aid, Volunteering Availability, etc.), you must email the CCAMPIS Program Grant email and attach the updated document along with it.
No, only the parent who filled out our application and received the award letter is responsible for completing the requirements.
