Open to women who reside in Texas (including school/college students). This is a USCF rated event (for both Regular and Quick ratings). USCF and TCA memberships are required to participate.

System of Competition
6 rounds, Swiss System, 30 minutes per game per player with 5 seconds of delay (G/30; d5)
Latest version of Swiss Sys will be used. Pairings created by this program are considered legal and will stand even if a pairing is not ideal, especially if pairings have been already posted. Current version is 11.26
When individual scores are equal, the following order of tie-break systems will be used to designate individual awards:
- Modified Median
- Median
- Solkoff
- Sonneborn-Berger
- Cumulative
Eligibility
- Open to women who reside in Texas (including school/college students).

- Current TCA membership is required https://texaschess.org/memberships/
USCF and TCA Memberships will not be processed by the organizers.
Entry Fee
- $30 by March 20
- $40 by March 24
- $50 on March 25
Free entry (if registered by 3/20) for:
- FIDE titled players
- participants eligible for collegiate awards (registration via official college e-mail address required)
- UTRGV MSA students
- UTRGV faculty and staff
Entries on March 25 will be permitted up to 30 minutes before the first round. Players that are not registered by the cutoff time shall be paired from Round 2 only (unless the Chief Tournament Director decides otherwise).
Awards
- Trophies, championship medals, and official TX state championship titles will be awarded to the top three finishers.
- There will be additional classifications for college and U1600 players. Trophies, championship medals, and official TX state championship titles will be awarded to the top three finishers of the collegiate classification.
Additional Information
- Chess sets, clocks, notations, pencils, and pens will be provided.
- Accommodation for participants with disabilities will be ensured.
- Upon timely request, separate rooms in proximity to the playing venue will be available for rent.
- Free parking.
