Getting Started with Undergraduate Research

You may be worried, asking yourself, "How do I get started with undergraduate research? It sounds so difficult." Have no fear! The research process is straightforward and easy to understand.

As an undergraduate researcher, you find an academic gap in knowledge and pose a question through specific disciplinary methods. After developing your methodology, you then put your research into practice! Once data is collected, you disseminate and present your learned knowledge with peers.

Research can seem daunting at first, but you don't have to do your research alone. Use our Mentor Match program to connect with faculty who are committed to helping you succeed!

Now that you know what undergraduate research is and how to go about it, we challenge you to sign up for a workshop, connect with a mentor, apply for research funding, and present at a conference!
