About Us
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley has been funded with a federal grant to help prepare Cameron and Hidalgo Counties veterans who are pursuing a program of higher education. With your support, this program will continue beyond our presently approved five-year grant.
The program will:
- Provide intensive basic skills development in those academic subjects required for a successful completion of a high school equivalency program and for admission to postsecondary programs
- Assist veterans in securing support services from other local resources, such as Veterans Affairs, state veterans services, veterans associations, and other state and local agencies that serve veterans.
Everything this program offers is free as long as you are enrolled in the Veterans Upward Bound Program.
