Get Your Orange On the Billboard Contest

University Marketing and Communications is looking for fun, creative, and unique taglines that can reflect our UTRGV pride, spirit, and commitment to orange.
The contest will determine words or messages only; artwork is not to be included in submission.

Contest Details

  • Participants are only allow to submit one entry and up to three taglines per person.
  • Submitted taglines must include the word “orange” to be considered.
  • Taglines should not exceed more than 6 words and 20 characters.
  • Taglines can be in both English and Spanish.

Contest Rules

  • Only UTRGV students in good academic standing and judicial standing can participate.
  • All participants must fill out and submit an entry form in order to be eligible to participate.
  • Taglines should be original. Please avoid song, book, and TV show titles.
  • Taglines that does not meet the requirements will not be considered.

Prize

Winners will receive a “Get Your Orange On” T-shirt and the chance to see their tagline and name displayed on the UTRGV website and all our digital billboards across the Rio Grande Valley.

Reproduction Rights

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley will retain all reproduction rights to submitted taglines with credit given to the student. UTRGV agrees not to sell any of the taglines.
Participant agree to assign all copyright and other intellectual property rights in the tagline to UTRGV. Entries must be original concept and constitute an original work and must not infringe on the protected rights of other artists or violate any applicable copyright laws.

Judging

A committee composed by the Public Relations Department will review all entries. Taglines will be judged based on creativity, originality, overall meaning, and compliance of the contest’s details and rules. The winners will be notified by email and/or phone and announced at UTRGV Day on Wednesday August 29th, 2018.

Your submission must be received by Friday August 10th by 5 p.m.
