Steps to Join TRiO SSS
To join the SSS program, undergraduate students seeking their first bachelor’s degree must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident &
- First generation (neither parent graduated from a four-year college)
- Qualify as low-income under federal income guidelines
- Have a documented disability on file with UTRGV’s Student Accessibility Services
If you meet the criteria and want to join, please review the Student Participation Agreement before completing the interest form. If you agree to be an active participant, please initial and sign the document and proceed with the interest form. Please e-mail the signed Student Participation Agreement and TRiO SSS Interest Form to trio-sss@utrgv.edu or bring to BMSLC 2.104.
Interest forms will be reviewed as we receive them and a staff member will reach out to you to schedule an interest meeting. We will discuss your goals, academic needs, and interest form with you at the interest meeting.
