Jonathan Guajardo, M.D.
Staff Physician, Family Practice at AltaMed Institute for Health Equity
Dr. Jonathan Guajardo is a first-generation Mexican-American raised in Baytown, Texas. He pursued his undergraduate education at Baylor University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and completed his graduate degree at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School of Medicine. Dr. Guajardo has always held an interest in giving back to his Latino Community through his efforts in the National Hispanic Institute, where he was head coach of the debate team and the Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA), where he held leadership positions at his school’s chapter level, as well as the regional and national levels. As a first-generation college and medical school graduate, Dr. Guajardo has developed a passion for mentoring the next generation of underrepresented minority youths and for community medicine.
Dr. Guajardo has since graduated from the AltaMed FMRP and is now an attending physician at AltaMed’s three low-income project housing clinics in the communities of Estrada Courts, William Mead, and Ramona Gardens, providing complete scope of care.
