Program Overview

This program prepares you to teach children in grades EC–6 who are learning academic content in both English and Spanish. You’ll learn about child development, bilingual education and biliteracy, and instructional strategies to contribute to the educational achievement of all children in EC-6 bilingual settings. Upon completion of this degree and passing applicable certification exams, you'll be eligible for Texas teacher certification in Core Subjects EC–6 with the Science of Teaching Reading, along with the Bilingual Education Supplemental: Spanish certification.
