Through the program, students will have the opportunity to travel to the Dallas-Forth Worth area and meet with industry leaders in science and technology. The trip will be hosted by the University of Texas Dallas and will also give participating students to meet their Dallas research counterparts as well as explore research and graduate opportunities at UT Dallas. The trip is completely paid for by the grant from the Sloan Foundation.

Students selected to participate in the research program will receive a $4,500 stipend and be able to choose from a selection of cutting-edge research projects in pure and applied mathematics. Participants in the programs at UTRGV and UTD will take part in joint professional development workshops each week and cover topics including GRE test-taking tips, applying to graduate programs, writing application personal statements, developing a strong CV, how to choose a graduate program, and how to thrive in graduate school.
