Maggie Cronn, Assistant Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs

Maggie Cronn’s career has always been rooted in a deep belief: when faculty thrive, students succeed. As Assistant Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs at UTRGV, she brings over a decade of experience in higher education leadership, student success, and institutional transformation to her work that is reshaping how we think about faculty development in service of student achievement. Maggie’s journey began in graduate and undergraduate enrollment management, where she built nationally recognized programs to support underrepresented students in STEM. Her strategic mindset and commitment to access led to measurable gains in enrollment, retention, and student engagement. But it’s her ability to translate those insights into faculty-facing initiatives that sets her apart. Joining UTRGV's Provost’s office in 2021, Maggie brought her experience leading large-scale initiatives and a focus on enhancing processes to help operationalize a vision. With Faculty Affairs’ reboot in 2024, she has remained, committed to collaboration, removing barriers to success, and improving procedures. What unites Maggie’s experience is a core belief in the transformative power of education and a vision to build a culture where faculty and students are empowered, supported, and inspired to do their best work. Whether she’s crafting policy, mentoring staff, or designing workshops, she brings the same energy and intentionality to faculty affairs that defined her earlier success in student-focused roles.
