Building Maintenance
Facilities Planning and Operations consists of UTRGV's Building Maintenance Department. The Building Maintenance Department is comprised of several trade operations: Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Preventive Maintenance, Carpentry, Painters, Masons, Locksmith, Cooling Plant Operations, Vehicles, Custodial, Grounds, and Central Services. These trades are located in Edinburg, Brownsville, and Harlingen.
Edinburg Maintenance
Under the direction of Abraham Hernandez, the Maintenance Department in Edinburg has 4 assistant directors - Martin Ramirez (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Preventive Maintenace), John De La Garza (Carpentry, Painters, Masons, Vehicle Mechanics, Locksmith), David Ortega (Cooling Plant Operations), and Carlos Chavez (Grounds and Custodial Services). Trades maintain buildings located buildings in Edinburg, McAllen, and Rio Grande City.
Brownsville Maintenance
Under the direction of Abraham Hernandez, the Maintenance Department in Brownsville has 2 assistant director - Martin Cortez, who oversees all trades, and Edgar Velador, who oversees Business Services for all campus locations. Trades maintain buildings located in Brownsville, Harlingen, Port Isabel, and South Padre Island.
