Artist Statement
Art has been my voice and my form of expression since childhood - a way to communicate what I couldn’t say out loud verbally. Growing up, I faced emotional, mental, and physical hardships within my own home, where my creativity and self-expression was often discouraged or frown upon. In those moments, drawing and art became my escape, my anchor and pillared, and my way to process the world and emotions around me. It was through art that I was able to discover my identity, a space where I could go above the expectations, pressures, and limits placed on me.
Regardless of the pressure to pursue a “practical” career, such as studying to become a lawyer, doctor, or dentist, I never lost sight, always keeping in mind of my passion. As I became involved in video games and content that were engaging, I discovered a whole universe where art wasn’t just a hobby - it was the foundation of immersive storytelling, character design, and interactive worlds that deeply connect with people. Games and content such as League of Legends, Five Nights at Freddy’s, and Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared showed me how art and design could build entire communities, sparking engagement and emotional attachment beyond the screen.
That realization changed the world for me. I no longer saw art as something I had to defend - I saw it as an opportunity, career path, that could combine my creativity with design and expression. Now, I strive to create visuals that do more than just look appealing. I want to bring designs and visuals that come to life, whether it’s telling stories, evoking emotions, and bringing people together. My goal is to contribute to the gaming and content industry, where art becomes a bridge between imagination and reality, just as it once did for me.
