New game? Press ‘X’ to start. Oh, wait, but what game? Played them all haven’t you? Tired of aliens and bored of zombies. When will a brand-new exciting game come out? Here it is, Cat Alley! The new 2D pixel game adapted for PC and Nintendo Switch. How exciting can a game about cats be, honestly? Clearly, you haven’t met Shoobo, the main antagonist. With stubby feet, a heart of gold, and the star of honor bestowed on his forehead, Shoobo the cat embarks on the adventure of a lifetime when unsightly Mauvise causes mayhem in Pawtopolis. She’s not alone, though. Big headed Berk defends her in infatuation by subjective beauty. As well, Mauvaise is authority over many hostile cats in support of mayhem. What is Shoobo to do to stop this? Well, it’s up to you friend, to hop on, press ‘X’ and start.
This is the concept of the game I am designing, Cat Alley. The purpose of my game is for video game entertainment. Having a heart for early 8-bit games, I decided to create the artwork, backgrounds, and characters in a pixel style. The logo for the game is not in pixel art style because I wanted to go for a modern logo as it is a modern game. I have designed one complete level as well as the main enemy, two stage 1 enemies, and the main character. Cat Alley stands out from other games because it has what others don’t; my imagination. Every character will be a unique shape with unique attributes. I tend to be light hearted so many characters are designed for a good laugh. The colors are soft and pastel with some pops of hue so that the player can be excited about the adventure. The first component to my exhibition is a first-release game advertisement poster. The second component is a package design for the case that the game will come in featuring action shots of gameplay.
