Artist Statement
I am a graphic designer who enjoys the sheer pleasure of creating visually appealing images that evoke the senses and captivate my audience. Art is a great part of who I am; therefore, my artistic quality and style have evolved through the years with the practicing of skills, mastering of techniques, and internalizing the trending world around me. I am an admirer of the idealistic simplicity of retro trends with nostalgic colors that depict the 70s era. I am inspired by a range of earthy colors that include shades of yellow, burnt orange, brown, heather blue, and sage green as well as mid-century patterns that appeal at an emotional level.
I am a great proponent of the evolution of technology and how it has transformed art from a simple painting or sketch to a world beyond the capacity of many of the greatest artists in history. My iPad and Apple Pencil along with Adobe Illustrator are my favorite tools for drawing, creating, and designing. Craftsmanship and quality work are extremely important to me, so I take the time to design images and create commissioned pieces that are not only pleasing to the eye but that also depict what my clients are longing for. I am able to take simple ideas and create a visual image with alluring elements and details that can transform concepts into aesthetically pleasing designs. My range of skills and talent have led me to design distinctive images for clients that vary in artistic styles to meet their expectations. These creations range from a sparkly princess invitation, to a fiesta themed enchilada mix label and even a label for a jelly jar that not only markets the product but also provides all the necessary nutritional information.
