Artist Statement

personal logoStudying the fundamentals of art and design has provided me with a better understanding of the type of career path that I want to pursue. I have always felt interested in creating graphic designs with the use of computer software. Now, I find that using the standard means is just plainly enjoyable, if not rewarding.

My journey as a Graphic Designer started during the Pandemic year in 2019. As my first 2 years in College, I was studying a degree I believed was my calling. But during those years, I couldn’t fully identify myself with the study. Then suddenly, COVID-19 hit and changed my career path. During the 3 months that we were in lockdown, I needed to find a distraction to keep myself busy during those hard times. I started investigating things I could do while still being at home and that’s when I saw on social media that many artists would showcase their artwork of their impact with COVID-19. This inspired me and I began doing illustrations & paintings for fun and I would share about them in my social media. Without the intention, I started receiving messages from people asking for paintings and even logo designs for their small business they started during the pandemic. Since then, I found myself enjoying every minute that I would invest in these small projects and decided to change my career path to Graphic Design. Even though the Pandemic was a difficult year for many of us, I am thankful that I got to find this part of me that would change my life. It surprises me every day how God works in ways we cannot understand, and I am grateful to him for these years of experience and the years to come.
