Growing up, I’ve always been intrigued by skater culture, and its fluidity and ability to merge with pop culture and both modern and vintage things. Skaters were always stereotyped a certain way and I wanted to change that stereotype to a group of individuals who are open to all styles and interests’. I myself am prety fluid with what I’m interested in and my likes and dislikes are always changing, and that’s what I notice skaters are like. I wanted to introduce retro wave and cyberpunk to the list of things that can mesh well with skate culture, therefore creating a skate brand that’s styled cyber punk and spacy as well. The colors I chose are quite opposite of heavy metal brands or trippy brands, I wanted to give a more organized look while adding my touch of mess to the mix. Since I was given all the creative freedom, I added a mix of illustration and graphic design to my work. Skateboards can have anything on their board to represent who the skater is. I also wanted to have a shop that can use all recycled supplies such as recycled wheels and recycled and recreated boards. Id like to intrigue people of all tastes and interests to my skate shop.
