Artist Statement

personal logoArt has been presented to me in various manners and continues to expose itself in a colorful and captivating way. With its limitless form and even more immense function, I believe to see art in having a great structure made up of delicate strokes.

Simplicity in expression was what captivated me for design. Communication without text, but with context of the presented subject. Understanding meaning though one sense only provided a worldview that was limited, yet greatly expressive. Color to emotion, shapes into though, the entirety of what can be shown in a single piece conveys more than words could articulate. That is what every artist should strive for. Not to change, but to introduce. Invite and share, not to replace. What is displayed should provide an outlook of the perspective without changing the sight of the audience. Create an element where both visions can be seen by the audience and can be appreciated as well.

Capturing this element in the heat of the moment requires a dedication of time for the detail to appear. The presented pieces are a work that I invite others to step into to see from my view. Dedication to the piece is the only way an artwork can be appreciated for its true value. Inherently, people will take a glance at art and be imposed at the first impression of the piece. If what you put your effort has no integrity, then the value of your work has no meaning to even yourself. I firmly believe that it is vital to express each work to their ultimate vision when showcasing one’s talent. Get it done right. There is only the completed work. Anything else is not what the intended vision was seen to be. If it is not achieved, then only the error will be remembered.

To stand present when otherwise unable to do so with my statement is the goal of what I hope to showcase. I stand by my beliefs of what art should be and with what I have presented I hope to shed light on that.
