Artist Statement
I’ve been involved in art since I was a little kid. I did hands-on work like painting, coloring, drawing, clay sculpting, and other media. Even when I had no money, I would use what I have like, using mud and soil, instead of clay. My grandfather wanted me to duplicate making logos for money since I was a young child. Art has been a big part of my life and a strong interest. When changing majors, I returned to doing what I love: doing hands-on art. I followed what I felt would benefit my dreams. I grew as a designer, adjusting my creative mind to create sleek, simplistic designs. But I know how to be both creative and simplistic at the same time. I want my work to have a specific meaning rather than no meaning at all. If you don’t feel proud of your work, you will never achieve as an artist, and it is essential to know your best and worst work. When you impact other artists with your work, you will have a thrive to continue working hard to improve. I have to have space around me and no distractions. The temperature needs to be just right to where I’m comfortable in the setting. My phone would have to be away from me. Music would sometimes help me; depending on the music, it can also be distracting. Knowing my work ethic is crucial to understand initially, for it helped make me want to work more rapidly by losing little to no quality towards work. There is a goal for everyone and knowing that makes me passionate about achieving my dream.
