I had always been interested in the arts from an early age. I dabbled in theater and was set on becoming an actress until I was inadvertently placed in graphic design elective courses. I initially assumed the subject related to fashion design and you could imagine my confusion entering a computer lab every week. But, to my surprise, the Adobe programs fascinated me. The first time I used Photoshop I realized it was essentially an advanced PicCollage, an app I was obsessed with as a middle schooler. I later got the opportunity to design posters for the theater and knew this route of advertising could be worth pursuing.
I would like to think that the work I create as a designer makes people happy. I incorporate bold colors, fun type, and charming illustrations in every composition. I believe these elements are necessary and will help society through tough times. Art is impactful and graphics can be used to educate whilst being pleasing to the eye.
When it comes to design, ideas come to my head out of nowhere. I could be eating a bagel and randomly will come up with a social media graphic. It is important to take note of the idea and sketch it as soon as possible while the idea is fresh in your mind. Solving problems involves allowing time for brainstorming sessions, research, and feedback. There's a lot involved in pre-production before the final product.
