As a child of two artists, paintings and drawing surrounded me, as if they were the arms of a third parental figure in my life. It comforted me, and brought me through some of my worst obstacles in life. I started drawing officially at the age of 9, and have never taken a day off. As I have advanced in life, my art did as well. When I enrolled in the art program here at UTRGV, I realized that while I still have much love for the traditional art practices, digital art, illustration, and graphic design were a new passion for me, and new terrain for me to explore and expand on. With this, my goal soon became to bring the same comfort art had for me, to others through art of my own. However abstract or minimalistic, I aim to have my art bring feelings to the viewer. Feelings that they may not have felt in a long time, such as nostalgia or a sense of home that they have never been to. When working, I try to visualize the finished product, the full picture essentially, and work towards that product as if it was like working towards a finish line. I incorporate this strategy in my art and in my life as well.
