Designer Statement
Visual art and music go hand in hand with both amplifying each other. Visual art is inspired by musics mood and energy, while album covers, music videos, and live performances rely on striking visuals to make the music listening experience betterH.
My favorite hobby is collecting physical media like vinyl records and cds and my favorite thing about it is being able to look at the cover artwork and other slip ins while consuming the music. This project let me work with a small musical artist and going back and forth with getting their input and me needing materiel from them was really interesting to work with as I have not had experience with that in any classes. My design for the bands cover art and promotional products is meant to be a homage to albums they like and are inspired by while still keeping it original. The band itself, sun-kissed arms are a shoegaze/noise rock garage band.
Although music has no age limit the audience for this project is young people who like and or interesting in alterenative, underground, and new music. This project is to show light on small music artists who are trying to make something special and unique and love for the combination of both visual art and music as mediums.
