Designer Statement

personal logoThe human perspective is an incredibly complex subject. A massive part of being human is the way we view ourselves and the way others perceive us. This leads us to wanting to connect with others and a fear of being rejected. This project was inspired by my passion for storytelling, animation, and emotion.

The project, A.A.Contact, is an animated pitch/concept critiquing society and analyzing the human condition through the perspective of a girl and a humanoid alien sharing the same body, encountering both friends and enemies, human and alien alike. The design process began with looking inside myself and finding out what ideas I wanted to express in a way that’s emblematic of me as a person. I was inspired by the many things that I loved as a child, and as I’ve grown older, I’ve gained a new perspective on everything that’s influenced me, and I want to share it with everyone.

The intended audience includes young adults and people alike who have questions about their place in the world. An animated project allows me to be more flexible with how I present my ideas, and I aim to bring something unique to the table with my own identity. This project reflects my interest in designing strong artwork and imagery that can leave a lasting impact on people, be they artists or regular people who are interested in art and expression.
