Artist Statement
As a graphic designer, my primary focus is always on visual communication. For me, the message is the heart of any project, and clarity must come first. I believe in ensuring that the core idea is easily understood before incorporating illustrative elements, typography, or color. Only when the message is clear and solid do I build upon it with creative design choices that enhance and support its impact. My approach is rooted in making sure that design isn’t just visually appealing but also purposeful and effective in its communication.
As an illustrator, my work shifts toward a deeper exploration of human and humanoid figures, often addressing themes of self-reflection, personal struggle, and identity. I’m fascinated by the imperfections that define us, using my characters as representations of these flaws. Many of my creations personify the issues that weigh on my mind, giving shape to the internal conflicts we all face. Through this, I aim to hold up a mirror for viewers, allowing them to see their own struggles and imperfections in my work. My hope is that people find comfort or understanding in my characters and, ultimately, see themselves more clearly and find they aren’t alone. I want to create art that makes people feel understood and encourages them to embrace their unique flaws and journeys.
At the core of everything I create, my goal is to reflect both the beauty and the flaws of the world. I want my work to inspire others to take meaningful action—mentally, emotionally, and physically—rather than stand by passively. For me, the worst response to life's challenges is doing nothing. Through my work, I hope to encourage others to engage, reflect, and contribute to making a positive impact on the world, both now and long after I’m gone.
