Artist Statement

personal logoThe reason I make art allows me to explore facets of myself, and sometimes my culture, and my heritage, and my life experiences that might be difficult to put into words. Through art, I can communicate emotions that I can’t convey in any other way. I have always enjoyed making art that people wouldn’t even consider eye-catching into something that everyone can find appealing or easy to understand. I would say my work can be versatile with the colors I incorporate but also constant in how I use certain typography to get attention. I always liked using different inspirations around me and things that pique my interest in nature, architecture, and culture—translating those elements into visual narratives that resonate with diverse audiences. I’ve always loved editorial magazines and the different book illustrations on book covers. So much so that I would make my own as a little kid. When it came to choosing a major Graphic Design had not been my first choice, but more like a far thought, that I wouldn’t know if I would enjoy. I decided to switch my minor to my major and it has been a good choice to allow me to make different pieces in different ways that I didn’t know I could. It expanded the things that I thought I knew while adding different skills that I would have not thought I would be good at. I would say that I adapt to changes well and so does my art. I have always come up with different ways that interpret how I see the world by using Graphic design. By using photography and different visual designs I have come up with different projects that consist of new product ideas that you could see in the market to different design techniques that would appeal to different audiences. I am passionate about pushing boundaries and exploring new techniques, always eager to learn and grow in this ever-evolving field. Through my work, I hope to contribute to a visual landscape that is both innovative and meaningful.
