Artist Statement
My interest in Fine Arts started at the early age of six. My interest for design was first displayed when my mother and I would create custom clothing pieces and furniture for my toy Barbies. The process of choosing color, fabric, and construction of the pieces sparked my interest in design. I would also play video games alongside my father; Final Fantasy being a prominent memory. I was captured by the character design & the storylines. Design gave me a sense of freedom. Free to express, free to create and free to be. As a graphic designer I understand that design can influence the way people perceive businesses, products or services. In my work I attempt to give the audience more than a straightforward design. I like for an audience to unexpectedly wonder towards the ambience of a business or sensation of a product and further create a positive story around it. By putting more emphasis on human emotional responses, I hope that my work can impact the world of Entrepreneurs who are looking to start or continue a successful business/product When it comes to my design process it starts off with frantically sketching and writing down words that come to my mind even if it makes zero sense at the start. I like to design privately at first without judgment or influence around me to create authenticity. I then like to do research, create mood boards, and gather reliable sources that educate me more about my projects. After completing my personal prerequisites I can begin to design.
