Juma Rios
Artist Statement
Hello, I am Juma Rios, a Mexican-born artist and designer. I was born into a family of artists of every kind, singers, musicians, crafters, tattooers, insatiable dreamers. From a young age I was immersed into the arts, from music, to crafting, I’ve always found fascination in the creative world. This led me to want to further my creativity into a future entrepreneurship.
Coming from Mexico to the United States at 10 years old has left a great impact on me, building everything from zero, seeing my parents struggling and slowly but surely building success throughout our stay here has been the source of inspiration for me. My work will always contain my heart and efforts, I want to be able to give inspiration to others just like my parents inspire me every day. So that they too would want to inspire someone in the future.
When it comes to my work I am always meticulous in brainstorming and ideating; when it comes to the designing aspect of my work I like to experiment and see what works the best, and provide many ideas that also fit with the work at hand. One of the ways you could describe my work is: Moody, fun, and experimental.
