COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update: Reminders

Tuesday, March 17, 2020 :: University Marketing & Communication

As we continue preparations to transition our academic offerings online, we want to remind our campus community of important, previously announced proactive measures:

  • All classes, except those associated with our Accelerated Online Programs, are cancelled this week (March 16-20).
  • Classes will resume via online on Monday, March 23, and until further notice. Students should not report to campus to attend class, but may still access campus resources such as health centers, student support services, libraries, student unions, food services and transportation. Click here for a list of open and closed campus resources.
  • Offices on our campuses remain open until further notice and may be accessed by our campus community as long as social distancing, as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is being followed. Students may access campus resources during normal business hours.
  • Students should remain home and not come to one of our campuses to access resources if:
    • they’ve had a fever in the past 48 hours
    • they have a cough
    • they’ve had contact with someone who has or is suspected to have the COVID-19 (coronavirus) infection
    • or they’ve traveled to California, Washington (state), New York, Massachusetts, Colorado, Florida, New Jersey, Louisiana, Illinois, or Georgia in the past 14 days. States are being added to the restricted list on a regular basis; please check our coronavirus campus information webpage for the latest updates.

This is a unique situation for all of us, and we know many of you have questions. Please regularly check your email for the latest updates and visit the aforementioned webpage, which also includes Frequently Asked Questions, for the latest information.

Our main concern continues to be the health, safety, and security of our UTRGV community. We appreciate your patience and cooperation while we work through this unprecedented situation.
