About Us
The Constitutional Essay Contest was initiated in 2010 through PACE, thanks to a generous donation from Dr. Lawrence and Mrs. Esperanza Gelman. The inaugural year for the Gelman Constitutional Scholars (GCS) Program was in 2011, which selected 10 scholars to participate in the intensive study of the Constitution as well as outreach into area schools and social networking to discuss the Constitution, its philosophical and historical significance, and its current implications. This year, 15 scholars will be selected and each will receive an iPad mini, scholarships, and a course on ethics and the Constitution.
