Concentrations

Clinical Professions – 27 Hours

  • Concentration designed for students who will apply for admission to UTRGV Bachelor Programs in Nursing, Medical Laboratory Sciences, or Communication Sciences and Disorders
  • Student’s will be able to choose from a selection of concentration courses to meet the pre-requisite requirements for admission to these programs and will follow the roadmap for the program they are interested in pursuing.
  • If for whatever reason, they don’t get into their program of interest, they can continue with the BSIHS and complete their Bachelor’s degree with this concentration.

Health Services – 27 Hours

  • Concentration designed for students who want to start and finish the BSIHS
  • Will be ready to enter the workforce as a health science professional with a skill set enabling them to work in many different health care related jobs.

Tentative 2021-2022 BSIHS - Clinical Professions - Health Services RoadMap 

Professional Studies – 27 Hours

  • Concentration designed for students who want to use the BSIHS as their degree to also complete the prerequisites for graduate and professional degrees post bachelors.
  • Student’s will be able to choose from a selection of concentration courses to meet most of the pre-requisite requirements for admission to physician assistant, medical, dental, physical therapy, occupational therapy and other health related professional graduate programs.
