Want to be a CPA?
If you plan to sit for the CPA exam, you must meet the following requirements before registering to take the exam:
- A total of 150 semester college credit hours
- 30 credit hours of upper level accounting
o 15 hours traditional face-to-face
o 2 hours of research and analysis
TSBPA Approved Research and Analysis Courses
- ACCT 4332 – Accounting Research
- ACCT 6320 – Accounting and Financial Analysis
- ACCT 6341 – Accounting Research and Communication
- ACCT 6360 – Tax Research
- ACCT 6375 – Financial Statement Analysis
- 24 credit hours of upper level business courses
o 2 hours of accounting or business communication
* If course is used to meet the research requirement, it cannot be used to meet the communications requirement
TSBPA Approved Communication Courses
- MARK 3320 – Personal Branding and Communications
- ACCT 6310 – Auditing (1 hour)
- ACCT 6331 – Financial Accounting Theory
- ACCT 6341 – Accounting Research and Communication
- ACCT 6350 – Information Technology (1 hour)
- ACCT 6360 – Tax Research (1 hour)
- 3 credit hours of TSBPA approved ethics
o ACCT 6380 – Professional Ethics
* If course is used to meet the research requirement, it cannot be used to meet the communications requirement
