If you are below 22 years of age, submit proof of bacterial meningitis vaccination or exemption. The vaccine must be given within the 5 years prior to the start of the term you applied for. The document must contain your full name, date of birth, vaccine name, the date the vaccine was given, and signature/stamp from the physician/facility that administered the vaccine. If you graduated from a foreign university, you must submit TSI scores or proof of exemption if you have not completed college-level coursework that satisfies the TSI requirements.
Students must complete the Texas Core Curriculum to earn a second bachelor's degree from UTRGV, if not completed as part of their first degree. Consequently, out-of-state, private, and international school applicants may need to complete courses from the UTRGV Core Curriculum in addition to completing the requirements of the second major. If you enrolled in lower-level courses at another institution besides the institution where you earned your bachelor's degree that could be used to satisfy the Texas Core Curriculum, submit an official college transcript. College Transcript must be sent directly from the college/university to UTRGV.
If you submitted a college transcript to complete your application before your degree was awarded, send an updated official college transcript once the degree has been granted and posted to your academic record. College Transcript must be sent directly from the college/university to UTRGV.
Only your lower-level college coursework will undergo an evaluation upon admission to assist with the Texas Core requirements. If you have earned upper-level coursework at another institution of higher education and wish to review the possibility of the credit being applied to your second degree, schedule a meeting with Academic Advising.
Become familiar with the regulations behind earning a second bachelor's degree. All advanced coursework completed after admission and enrollment at UTRGV as a second-degree seeking student must be taken at UTRGV.
