Students can choose a research project from the areas of:
Participants will receive a $5,000 stipend and travel reimbursement up to $600.
Housing will be provided.
The program takes place June 4 to August 11, 2017 at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Brownsville campus.
Some participants will travel to the Laser Interferometer Gravitational wave Observatory (LIGO) in Hanford, Washington.
Physics, astronomy, chemistry, computer science and engineering majors are encouraged to apply.
Freshmen, sophomores and juniors are eligible to participate, but due to funding agency requirements, participants must be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents.
