Vaquero Move-In

Move-In Dates:

In consideration of the safety of UTRGV residents due to the imminent threat of Hurricane Harvey on the Texas Gulf Coast, Housing Move-In for Friday, August 25, 2017 and Saturday, August 26, 2017 at UTRGV is postponed until Sunday, August 27, 2017 at 10 am. Residents will not be able to move into their housing until at least 8/27/17. Thank you for your understanding of this schedule change.

Residents who have already checked in do not need to evacuate and are allowed to stay on campus.  The Dining Hall on the Edinburg campus will remain open starting tonight and through the weekend.

Information will be sent as it becomes available and posted to www.utrgv.edu and social media accounts.

We urge everyone to use caution in their travel plans.

First-Year Students

**There will be a MANDATORY assembly that evening at 6 p.m. for all incoming Freshmen**

Step One – Arrive at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley:

We are suggesting residents and their family members arrive to the designated residence hall/apartment complex on campus. There will be signs to guide residents and their families.

Step Two – Park:

There will guides directing traffic and assisting with parking. Do not remove your items from your vehicle until you checked in first at your designated building. Once you have checked in and inspected your room, then you may return to your vehicle to acquire your items. Please also limit the check-in process to the student only and bring your student ID and Texas ID.

Step Three – Check-in (do not unload yet):

Residents will check in to their residence hall room by reporting to their assigned building. This includes confirming their room assignment, receiving keys, and reviewing room condition paperwork.

Step Four – Unload:

Once the check-in process is completed, residents will then head back to their vehicle and may begin unloading. Residents and their families will unload the vehicle(s), with a UTRGV volunteers. Once empty, the vehicle will be moved to a designated parking location. While the vehicle is being relocated by a friend or family member, the resident will be assisted with moving their belongings to their room.

Step Five – Move-In:

Move in to your assigned room. Get to know your roommate and suitemates.
