The United Nations' Global Sustainability Goal 2: Zero Hunger aims to change the way we think about growing food; A profound change of the global food and agriculture system is needed if we are to nourish today’s 815 million hungry and the additional 2 billion people expected by 2050. As an institution, UTRGV is in a position to inspire, engage, and prepare countless students to be socially conscious citizens and transformative leaders who will discover and apply sustainable solutions to preserve and maintain the planet.
Earth Fest 2018
Earth Fest 2018 features the 4th annual Food Security Forum, with three panels made up of over 12 guest speakers taking place in the Edinburg Ballroom on April 19, concurrent with fun activities hosted by various student organizations and other Exhibitors on both campuses. On April 21, the City of Brownsville hosts their earth fest. UTRGV student organizations join the City of Brownsville in Linear Park for more Earth Fest activities!
