Student Partners

Our SaLT HSI Program Outcomes are informed by findings from the pilot SaLT HSI initiative implemented in Fall 2020 semester and are in direct response to student and faculty partners reflections and insights.
  1. Student partners will build self-confidence, agency, and ability to advocate for teaching and learning practices that respond to student strengths and needs to be successful in college and beyond.

  2. Student partners will develop solidarity amongst fellow student partners and faculty partners by building on their communication skills and responsibilities in professional contexts.

  3. Student partners will provide rhetorically informed (e.g., audience, purpose, intentions) feedback that elicits conversation in written and oral contexts to faculty members on teaching documents, teaching practices, and lectures.

  4. Student partners will demonstrate empathy by engaging in reflective and reflexive feedback strategies and navigating conversations on receptivity toward student feedback.

  5. Student partners will engage in resilient strategies to apply in their personal, academic, and professional lives.

Faculty Partners

  1. Faculty partners will engage in reciprocal conversations about teaching and learning alongside student partners.

  2. Faculty partners will reflect on student feedback, insights, and examples to revise teaching and learning practices.

  3. Faculty partners will commit to teaching revisions and implementation of new teaching and learning practices informed by conversations and feedback from student partner.
