Student Media

The mission of Student Media is to offer real-world training to University of Texas Rio Grande Valley students who want to gain insight into and experience in a media profession as they provide news, information and diverse perspectives to the campus community and beyond. Student Media prepares students for careers across media platforms and to be leaders in their future careers by placing them in leadership positions within the department’s programs.

The department is composed of four media outlets:

The newspaper strives to include fair, complete, balanced and accurate coverage of events and issues impacting the university, with emphasis on matters that most directly affect students.
