Student Support

Student Support Services plays a critical educational role in supporting students enrolled at UTRGV by providing a wide array of operational efficient programs and services that support the students’ academic endeavors, their personal growth and development, and their quality of life. Student Support Services helps support the universities mission to increase retention and graduation rates of its students by providing the following supports services:

Center for Diversity and Inclusion

The Center for Diversity and Inclusion supports culturally-based affinity groups, enhance programming that builds cultural competence and civil discourse, and provide direct support to students.

Counseling Center

The Counseling Center provides free and confidential counseling services for UTRGV students to address mental health concerns, and seeks to promote personal growth and well-being among our campus community through education and outreach activities.

Military and Veteran Success Center

The Military and Veteran Success Center (MVSC) seeks to assist student veterans, guardsmen, reservist, and their dependents in the pursuit of educational goals. The department serves as a liaison between students receiving military educational benefits and the Department of Veteran Affairs.

Student Accessibility Services

Student Accessibility Services (SAS) exists to facilitate students’ equal access to university programs and services, promote student learning and development, foster independence and self-advocacy, and provide leadership to the campus on disability issues.

Student Food Pantry

The Student Food Pantry provides food supplements to UTRGV students who have been impacted by financial problems/conditions and subsequently are experiencing difficulty meeting their basic need of adequate nutrition.
