Student Activities contributes to the traditions and experiences at UTRGV that instill a sense of belonging and pride in the Vaqueros community.  Through signature events and different activities; students participating will feel at home right here at UTRGV.

Best Week Ever

Get the academic year started with a week long celebration at UTRGV. Stop by and get a free lunch at Dr. Bailey's Picnic with the President, scope out student organizations, university departments and local businesses at The Stomp, and celebrate UTRGV's anniversary at UTRGV day. All together this will be your BEST WEEK EVER! 

 

UTRGV Madness

In collaboration with UTRGV Athletics, the Campus Activities Board and The Herd; Student Activities helps create week-long events to increase school spirit and celebrate the men & women's teams. On the Friday of that week, the Fieldhouse turns into a madhouse, with the Pep Band performing alongside Cheer & Dance teams, student organizations competing in the annual dance off, and athletes competing in games. All ending with a preview of the men & women's basketball teams as they get ready to start the season. 

Week of Welcome

Welcome back the spring semester in only the way that UTRGV knows how. Week of Welcome will provide new and returning students with a variety of events hosted by university departments and student organizations. Getting in the fun right away and getting the semester off to a great start. 
UTRGV Homecoming Taking place in February, students, faculty, staff, families and community come together to celebrate school spirit throughout the week. Everyone comes together to Honor our Legacy and Build our Future. 
Charreada at UTRGV This annual event brings the UTRGV family and community together to celebrate the rich Mexican heritage and embrace the city of Brownsville’s rich history with Charro Days.
