Join Student Activities, Campus Activities Board, and the Center for Student Involvement for an afternoon of celebration in honor of the City of Brownsville's annual Charro Days festivities. The festival will feature:
Location: BSTUN Lawn- Joint performance by Ballet Folklórico Tizatlán de UTRGV and Brownsville Early College High School Dancing Stars.
- Performance by Mariachi Sol Azteca.
- Performance by Incarnate Word Academy Charro and China Poblana.
- "Best Dressed" and "Grito" contests (Attendees may register on-site.)
- Student organizations' fundraisers selling delicious food items
- A mini-symposium with poetry readings and research on Charro Days and RGV literary figures brought to you by the Department of Literatures and Cultural Studies and the Department of Creative Writing.
- Art exhibitions with items from the Brownsville Historical Association, the Museum of South Texas History, the School of Art and Design, and the Sculpture Club.
Students, faculty, and staff are invited to dress in traditional Mexican attire.
