The It Takes One Civic Engagement Alliance is a non-partisan initiative aiming to unite political and non-political student organizations and individuals on campus. The purpose of this alliance is to help UTRGV students become more active in the community through service, voter registration, education and engagement. |

Vaqueros Vote is a nonpartisan coalition of UTRGV faculty, staff, students and nonpartisan community organizations dedicated to increasing political and civic participation among the UTRGV community and increase public awareness about the value of participation in democracy through the electoral process. Patriot Day/National Day of Remembrance |
Annual observance on September 11 to remember those who were injured or died during the terrorist attacks in the United States on September 11, 2001. |
Constitution Day/Citizenship Day | Commemorates the formation and signing of the Constitution of the United States on September 17, 1787. The day also recognizes all who are born in the U.S. or by naturalization, have become citizens. |

A national holiday celebrating our democracy. It was first observed in 2012 and has grown in popularity every year. The celebrations and activities take place on the fourth Tuesday of September. |

Student Activities partners with the Cameron County Elections Department and the Hidalgo County Elections Department to bring the opportunity for students, faculty and staff to become Texas Volunteer Deputy Registrars each year.
