Dr. Martha Solis was born and raised in North Mexico, just across the border from the Rio Grande Valley. She graduated valedictorian from the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon School of Medicine in Monterrey, Mexico in 2019, and went on to pursue her dreams of training in a US residency program. She was fortunate to match with the UTRGV-DHR Internal Medicine Residency Program in the Valley, where she was able to complete her internal medicine residency close to her loved ones. She is currently doing a PGY4 chief residency year at UTRGV-KMC Internal Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Solis is interested in academic medicine and is very passionate about resident wellness, especially advocating for minorities. She was recently awarded the 2023 ECFMG J1 Physician Well-being Grant, one of the only three awardees in the nation. During her spare time, Dr. Solis enjoys spending time with her family, reading novels, and crafting.
