Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism Fellowship
Letter from the Program Director

Greetings from Southern Texas!
It is with great pleasure I extend an invitation for you to learn more about our fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley - Doctors Hospital at Renaissance. The fellows at our program will have the unique opportunity to learn from our dedicated faculty in multiple medical as well as surgical disciplines. In addition to the full range of conditions seen in adult endocrinology, our program features specialized clinics in pediatric endocrinology, metabolic surgery and obesity, dynamic endocrine testing, transplant, osteoporosis, and gender care for our patients with gender incongruence.
Our community is rich in tradition, with Mexican and Texan influences, and our residents and fellows enjoy diverse and family-friendly options for activities, recreation, and dining. Please feel free to share your interests with us during your interview.
Our goal is to train thoughtful, compassionate, well-prepared endocrinologists who are ready to make a difference.
Welcome to our program. I encourage you to explore with us how our program can support you in developing into the physician you have worked so hard to become.
Sincerely,
Michelle L. Cordoba Kissee, MD

About the program
Our program's mission is to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based, cost-effective endocrine care to our community, and we seek to train critical thinkers and life-long learners who address health care disparities by serving the traditionally medically underserved, including adult members of undocumented, elderly, uninsured, ethnic minority and LGBTQIA populations.
