The Department of Neurology at the UTRGV School of Medicine is committed to developing advanced neurology services and innovative medical training for future neurologists to deliver the highest-quality, neurological care to patients in South Texas.

Our focus is to foster discovery in neurological science, clinical excellence and cutting-edge research to benefit patient care with the special focus on reducing health care inequalities in the RGV community.

Mission

The UTRGV Neurology department is dedicated to the mission of bringing academic training and advanced neurological care to the people of the Rio Grande Valley. We currently provide treatment to patients in Hidalgo and Cameron counties. Our Neurology program is affiliated with the Institute for Neuroscience in Harlingen and growing a diverse, expert neurology faculty who will support residency training programs and world-class neurological research.
